NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — Davidson College placed 239 student-athletes on the 2017-18 Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll, announced by the conference Thursday. The 3,168 honorees make up 50.3 percent of the student-athletes in the conference.
The 3,168 members is the highest number of unique student-athletes in a single year as the Commissioner's Honor Roll combined fall and spring semesters for the first time in 2017-18.
The 239 Wildcats honored were their most in the four years since joining the Atlantic 10 in 2013. Davidson baseball featured the most student-athletes recognized with 26, while women's track and field and cross country and women's soccer notched 24 honorees apiece.
To be listed on the annual Commissioner's Honor Roll, a student-athlete in an Atlantic 10-sponsored sport must have a 3.0 GPA or better (on a 4.0 scale) during the academic year. Freshmen are eligible to receive the award.
Fordham led the way with 304 honorees, while Massachusetts (274) and Saint Joseph's (256) rounded out the top three athletic programs.
