
Coach Lausier Welcomes Seven to the Class of 2022

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Head wrestling coach Andy Lausier welcomes seven members to the Davidson Class of 2022, announced Thursday.
The Wildcats will welcome to the wrestling room this fall: Evan Clark (Lititz, Pa.), Erik Eva (Christianburg, Va.), Kyle Gorant (Coopersburg, Pa.), Anthony Rautmann (Randon Lake, Wis.), Lachlan Rosato (Greenwich, Conn.), Mitchell Trigg (Foley, Minn.) and Caleb Ziebell (Slinger, Wis.).
"I am so excited about the addition of these seven student-athletes," said Lausier. "They are successful, ambitious and young men of great character. We all share the same vision for the future success of Davidson wrestling."
Evan Clark, a heavyweight from Lititz, Pa., and Warwick High School was a Section 2 Champion and two-time selection to the Academic All-State team. Clark took fifth in District 3 and compiled a career record of 93-19.
Erik Eva hails from Christianburg, Va., and is listed as a 174 and 184-pounder. At Christianburg High, Eva placed first and fourth, respectively, at the Virginia State Championship and posted a career mark of 122-39.
Kyle Gorant joins the squad from Coopersburg, Pa., after graduating from The Hill School. Gorant, a 133-pounder, was the 19th ranked senior in the state of Pennsylvania and was a four-time Prep State place winner and three-time National Prep place victor. Gorant racked up 150 wins in 182 bouts.
Anthony Rautmann travels south from Random Lake, Wis. and weighs in at 125-pounds. A three-time state qualifier for Random Lake High, Rautmann placed as high as fifth in the state championship. A two-time Big East Conference champ, Rautmann amassed a 119-43 career record.
Lachlan Rosato, a native of Greenwich, Conn., will look to grapple at 197 pounds as a Wildcat. Rosato was a two-time Prep State Champion and three-time New England Prep victor. The two-time All-League selection went 113-29 overall.
Mitchell Trigg is the second heavyweight added to the roster and comes Foley, Minn. Trigg placed first and second in his two appearances at Minnesota State Championships and was named Academic All-State for Foley High School.
The final commit to Davidson wrestling's Class of 2022 is Caleb Ziebell. A native of Slinger, Wis., Ziebell is listed at 141 pounds and placed as high as second at the Wisconsin State Championship in three tries. The Slinger High School valedictorian, Ziebell took fourth at the USA Wrestling Preseason Nationals in 2017 and posted a record of 184-24.
