NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – For the second consecutive season, Davidson women's track and field student-athletes Sarah Sears and Caroline Yarbrough earned Atlantic 10 All-Academic team honors, announced by the league office Wednesday.
Sears, a senior latin american studies major, and Yarbrough, a junior art history major, combined to score 26 points for the Wildcats at the A-10 Outdoor Championship in May.
Sears shined in her final season, winning both the 5,000 and 10,000-meter runs at the A-10 Championship at George Mason. Her personal best time of 16:21.56, set at the Duke Invitational, qualified her for the NCAA East Preliminary Round for the first time in her career. She previously earned A-10 All-Academic team honors during the 2017 cross country and 2017-18 indoor track seasons.
Yarbrough posted a stellar junior campaign for the 'Cats that included a school record 5k run of 16:20.70 at the Raleigh Relays. Yarbrough took second in both the 5k and 10k at the A-10 Outdoor Championship to finish with five All-Conference nods in 2017-18.
Yarbrough, a five-time A-10 All-Academic team member, recently earned a spot on the Google Cloud Academic All-District team and is up for a spot on the Academic All-America team to be released in June.
