NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Davidson junior Sean Caveney was named to the Atlantic 10 Men's Track and Field Outdoor All-Academic team, announced by the conference office Wednesday.
Majoring in environmental studies, Caveney earned a spot on the 10-man All-Academic team for his efforts in the classroom and on the track this spring. The Andover, Mass., native won his first A-10 title in the 400-meter hurdles and qualified for the NCAA East Preliminary Round for the second consecutive year in the event. Caveney broke the school record in the 400m hurdles at the Duke Invitational, stopping the clock in 52.25 seconds.
It is the first A-10 academic nod for the junior, but he did receive U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic honors in July 2017. He is the first Wildcat to land on the league's All-Academic team since Walker Mogen '17 made it for the 2017 indoor campaign.
