Eight Players Named to NFF Hampshire Honor Society

IRVING, Texas – Eight members of the Davidson football team were named to the 2018 National Football Foundation (NFF) Hampshire Honor Society, announced by the NFF Wednesday.
Outgoing seniors Ben Hart, Derek Jones, Taylor Mitchell, Conrad Mueller, Ryan Samuels, Brendan Simpkins, Trevor Smith and Austin Wells all garnered recognition for their success both on the field and in the classroom.
To be recognized, players must be graduating seniors who achieved a cumulative grade point average above 3.2 and were significant contributors to their programs.
Overall, 1,252 players from all three NCAA Division's were named to the Hampshire Honor Society, setting a new high mark, while the 302 school members also sets a record in the society's 12th year.
Mitchell was a semifinalist for the NFF National Scholar-Athlete Award, while Mueller and Smith were both named Pioneer Football League (PFL) All-Conference team members following their efforts during the 2017 season.
