Men's Track & Field Opens Outdoor Slate at Coastal Carolina Invite

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Davidson men's track and field team opened the 2018 outdoor slate at the Coastal Carolina Invitational Friday.
The Wildcat 4x800-meter relay squad took second overall. The team of Daniel Alvarez, Ramsay Ritchie, Ian Robertson and Robbie Seaton-Todd combined to stop the clock in 8:08.30, just ahead of the other Davidson squad (8:08.51).
In the field events, freshman Langston Stephens marked a leap of 5.83-meters (19'1.5) in the long jump, while newcomer Stockton McGuire marked a javelin toss of 40.14m (131'8.5).
Davidson returns to the track tomorrow, Saturday, Mar. 10 for the final day of the Coastal Carolina Invitational. The first event is slated to go off at 9:30 a.m.
