WILMINGTON, N.C. – Davidson's Jack Lang (-3) fired a final-round two-under 70 to finish in second place at the 2018 Seahawk Intercollegiate hosted by UNCW. The 54-hole event was played on the Par 72, 6,967-yard Country Club of Landfall Nicklaus Course layout.
A junior from Lexington, Mass., Lang posted six birdies Monday en route to the sixth Top-5 finish of his career. The 2017 Atlantic 10 Individual Champion finished the two-day tournament at 213 (70-73-70), just one stroke behind individual medalist Blake McShea (-4) of UNCW.
Through seven events, Lang leads the Wildcats with eight rounds of par or better, three Top-10 showings and a 73.45 stroke average.
The Seahawks (-2) maintained their overnight lead and captured the team title by 12 shots over in-state foe Campbell (+10).
Davidson (303-298-297 = 898 | 8th) fired the fourth lowest final-round score as a team to record its best finish of the year.
Alex Ross (227/T-30), Michael Freeman (233/T-54), Nathan Tenpas (233/T-54), Hoke Carlton (236/T-59) were also in the Wildcat lineup, while Mike Blasey (241/T-66) competed as an individual.
In all, the field consisted of 14 teams and 81 competitors.
