Women's Track and Field Opens Up 49er Classic

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The women's track and field team returned to the track in day one of the Charlotte 49er Classic Friday.
Junior Caroline Yarbrough opened her outdoor season with a statement, placing second overall and the first collegian to cross the line in the 5,000-meter. Her time of 16:45.99 is her fastest career mark on the outdoor track.
Sophomore Maddie Hunter competed in her first ever 1500-meter run, stopping the clock in 4:29.01, fourth overall and the third collegian. Junior Sophia Mills posted a new personal best in the event (4:33.70).
The Wildcats wrap up the final day of the Charlotte 49er Classic tomorrow, Saturday, March 17.
