‘Cats Lead Mountaineer Invite, Darkness Suspends Round Two

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Davidson (+4), which was four-under on its afternoon round, had a two-stroke lead over West Virginia, when the second round of the Health Plan Mountaineer Invitational was suspended due to darkness Monday evening.
Play will resume tomorrow morning at 8:30 a.m. with continuous play into the final 18 holes.
The two-day/54-hole event is being played on the Par-72, 7,308-yard Pete Dye Golf Club layout.
The Wildcats, who were third after an opening round 296, have three players currently inside the Top-10 and a total of four in the Top-25 – Jack Lang (T3rd/-3), Viraj Garewal (T5th/-1), Alex Ross (T10th/+2) and Hoke Carlton (T23rd/+6).
West Virginia (+6) is two back of Davidson, while Eastern Kentucky is seven off the pace at 11-over.
Already with a third and runner-up finish through two fall events, Lang is just three back on Matt Naumec of Boston College, who leads by one of EKU's Edvin Lindgren.
In addition to the host Mountaineers, the field features Akron, Boston College, Bowling Green, Eastern Kentucky, Georgetown, James Madison, Marshall, Ohio, Rutgers, Seton Hall, St. John's and Winthrop.
