DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Davidson field hockey team concluded its home slate and Atlantic 10 season with a 3-0 loss to VCU on a chilly morning Saturday at Belk Turf Field.

Atlantic 10 leading scorer Emily McNamara provided all the scoring the Rams needed on Davidson's Senior Day match, delayed a day by rain and poor field conditions.

The Wildcats fell to 5-12 overall and completed the A-10 season 1-7. The Rams improved to 11-6 and 7-1.

McNamara scored in the eighth and 27^th minutes to give VCU a 2-0 lead at the break and scored her 25^th goal of the season in the 47^th minute. Kristin Kisa had two of Davidson's three shots on goal, and the Wildcats finished with a 3-2 edge in penalty corners.

Saturday marked the final home game for six Davidson seniors: Kisa, Leigha Nortier, Kate Singletary, Emily Morgan, Courtney Byler and Bean Rodriguez.

"I'm really proud of this group of seniors," said Davidson coach Ginny Turner. "They have been consistent leaders, motivators, playmakers and true teammates over the past four years. They are leaving DCFH a better team and have shown what true dedication looks like. They all embody our values of Commitment, Opportunity and Heart, and I speak for everyone when I say we are going to miss their sprit, their laughter, jokes and their passions. Thank you Courtney, Bean, Trip, Kristin, Leigha, and Emily for everything you have done and given to DCFH over the past four years. I am proud to see each of you leave Davidson as strong, compassionate women who I know will do great things in this world."
