DAVIDSON, N.C. – Due to heavy rain and unplayable field conditions, Davidson's Senior Day contest with VCU has been rescheduled from Friday evening to 10 a.m. Saturday.
Davidson will recognize six seniors prior to the morning match with VCU, the final home date of the season at Belk Turf Field.
The members of the 2019 class are No. 3 Kristin Kisa, No. 7 Leigha Nortier, No. 16 Kate Singletary, No. 18 Emily Morgan, No. 24 Courtney Byler and No. 92 Bean Rodriguez.
Kisa and Nortier lead the Wildcats with six and five goals, respectively, while Morgan and Byler anchor the defense. Rodriguez has filled in admirably in goal for the injured Sarah Zeszotarski, and Singletary brings versatility off the bench.
LATEST ON THE 'CATS
Davidson (5-11, 1-6) is seeking its first win since a 2-1 victory over Central Michigan on Oct. 14. Since then, the Wildcats have lost three matches, including 3-2 at La Salle last Sunday when Leigha Nortier and Sydney McKenna scored the Davidson goals.
ABOUT THE SERIES
In a series that dates to 1981, VCU holds a 16-9 lead. The teams have split four meetings in A-10 play, with Davidson winning 1-0 in 2014 and 3-0 in 2015.
SCOUTING THE RAMS
VCU (10-6, 6-1) comes to town on a three-game win streak, which includes a 3-1 win over then-No. 14 Wake Forest last Sunday. Senior forward Emily McNamara scored two goals in that Rams win to earn Atlantic 10 Player of the Week honors for the fourth time this year. McNamara is atop the A-10 – and ranks among the nation's leaders – with 22 goals, 47 points and 95 shots. She scored four goals in a win over Saint Louis last month and had two in VCU's 4-2 win over Davidson last year.
UP NEXT
Davidson will conclude the season with a 12 p.m. non-conference game at No. 19 Wake Forest on Sunday.
