
Ross Named Co-Golfer of the Week; Garewal Rookie of the Week

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Fresh off leading Davidson to the 2018 Dayton Invitational title, Alex Ross has been named Atlantic 10 Co-Golfer of the Week, while Viraj Garewal was selected Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office Friday.
Ross, the 2018 Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year, finished with a 54-hole total of 211 (-2) to finish one back of individual medalist Joel Durnford (-3) of Illinois State. In addition to it being Ross' lowest career finish; it was the second Top-5 showing of his brief Wildcat career.
Garewal continued his impressive freshman campaign finishing tied for 18th at 219 (74-71-74). In addition to an average finish of 13.2 this fall, the Raleigh native posted a 72.45 stroke average, including six rounds of par or better.
Ranked 84th nationally, Davidson concluded its four-tournament fall slate with a team title, second-place showing, two thirds and a stroke average of 287.72.
