DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Davidson golf team will open their 2017 fall season at the Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational on Monday in Huntington, W.Va.
The two-day/54-hole event will be played on the Par 71, 6,523-yard Guyan Country Club layout.
Under the direction of head coach Tim Straub, who is in his 18th season at the helm, the Wildcats return four starters from last year's team that finished fifth at the Atlantic 10 Conference Championship.
Among those returning include Jack Lang, last year's A-10 individual champion and NCAA automatic qualifier.
Lang became the program's seventh conference champion and just the third player in school history to advance to the NCAA Tournament. In addition, Lang was only the second Davidson golfer to play in an NCAA regional since the tournament format was adopted in 1989.
A junior from Lexington, Mass., Lang has a 74.77 career stroke average and four Top-5 finishes in 19 collegiate events.
Along with Lang, juniors Mike Blasey and Kevin Carlock, sophomore Michael Freeman, and freshman Alex Ross, will compete for the Wildcats in the opener, while senior Natahan Tenpas plays as an individual.

Davidson will enjoy a three-week break from tournament play before traveling to Akron, Ohio, for the Firestone Invitational at Firestone Country Club.
