CONWAY, S.C. – Davidson came up short on the road Sunday evening in its non-conference game at Coastal Carolina, falling 1-0 at CCU Soccer Stadium.
The Wildcats fell to 1-4 on the season, while Coastal ran its record to a 5-1 mark.

•The matchup with Coastal Carolina was the third meeting all-time since the series started in 2013.
•Both teams last played each other in 2014, which resulted in a 2-0 win on the road for the Wildcats.

"Good battle this evening, but we lacked a little quality in the final third of the game and did not create as much as we have in some other games. After the goal, we push numbers forward in search of the equalizer but did not create enough quality opportunities on the night. I can't fault the effort of the players- they have competed all year in every game. We have to keep working together and we will be rewarded for our efforts."
Davidson plays the third game of a four-game road swing next at Appalachian State, Sept. 7.
