Davidson Athletics Exceeds 2016-17 Fundraising Goal

DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Davidson Athletic Fund (DAF) is pleased to announce that with the generous support of more than 2,200 donors, the DAF greatly exceeded its fundraising goal for the 2016-17 fiscal year.
July affords the DAF the ability to report on their efforts to generate support for Davidson's 21 varsity teams, and due to the generous investment of over 2,200 incredible alumni, donors, parents and friends, the school greatly exceed its $2.3 million goal for current-use funds, finishing with a new cash record of $3,035,239. These funds will directly enhance the scholarship and operating budgets of our athletic department.
Additionally, for the third consecutive year, scholarship donors helped raise over $3.1 million in new athletic scholarship commitments and pledges.
Finally, when tallying up various capital projects, multi-year commitments, and planned giving commitments, the DAF is pleased to report that a grand total of $6,210,295 was committed in support of Davidson athletics during the 2016-17 academic year.
None of the above would have been possible without the generous support of our donors. Davidson would like to give many thanks to those who made a gift.

The Davidson Athletic Fund provides operating, scholarship and capital funds to support 21 NCAA Division I programs and over 450 student-athletes. A corollary purpose is to strengthen the broader academic-athletic community of alumni, athletes and coaches, faculty and staff, parents and neighbors. This occurs through the hosting of a number of events each year as well as through targeted and consistent communications that engage the DAF's external and internal constituencies and complement the DAF's development efforts.
