DAVIDSON, N.C. – As July hits its midway mark, several Davidson baseball players, still fresh off their historic run in June all the way to a NCAA Super Regional, have reached their midway mark in their summer seasons. 10 Wildcats are competing in summer prospect leagues, as well as three former 'Cats who are all enjoying success in different levels of professional baseball.

Clark Beeker '16 | RHP | Cedar Rapids Kernels (Low-A Affiliate, Minnesota Twins)
Beeker boasts the best record on the squad at 8-3, hauling in 98 innings already with a 2.66 ERA across 16 appearances. He ranks fourth on the squad with 67 strikeouts, and was named a Midwest League All-Star back in June.
The Lexington, N.C., native supports the sixth-best ERA in the entire league, and he's tied for seventh in wins. Beeker and the Kernels have clinched a 2017 playoff berth after finishing in second during the first half of the season as the "First Half Wild Card".
Beeker was selected in the 33rd round of the 2016 MLB Draft.
Durin O'Linger '17 | RHP | Lowell Spinners (Class A Short Season Affiliate, Boston Red Sox)
O'Linger, who became famous for his incredible workload during the 'Cats 2017 postseason, made three relief appearances before recording his first professional start on July 11, where he earned the win in 5.2 innings, allowing just two walks and striking out four. In his professional debut, he tossed four innings of relief, scattering just three hits and fanning six.
The Tampa, Fla., prospect has accumulated 14 innings with 15 Ks, boasting a 2.57 ERA. It is very likely that O'Linger will start again in Monday's doubleheader matchup in Aberdeen, Md.
O'Linger signed a nondrafted free agent contract with the Red Sox this past June.
Will Robertson '17 | OF | GCL Orioles (Rookie League, Baltimore Orioles)
Robertson, who exited Davidson as the most decorated player in program history, is continuing where he left off. He's collected a hit in eight straight games, and has recorded at least one in all but three of his 16 contests.
A Greenville, S.C., native, Robertson is boasting a .311 clip with 10 RBI, eight runs, and seven doubles. The outfielder went 3-for-5 with a double and run on July 11, and has drove in two in two separate occasions. He has struck out just six times in 61 at bats, and has been hitting in the 3-hole for the last handful of games.
Robertson was taken in the 30th round of the 2017 MLB Draft.
CURRENT DAVIDSON PLAYERS

Brett Centracchio (SO) | INF/DH | Forest City Owls (Coastal Plains League)
Centracchio, who was voted amongst his Wildcat teammates as the 2017 Davidson Rookie of the Year, has turned in eight hits and scored seven times in 12 games for the Owls. He has two home runs and is carrying a .436 slugging percentage.
The Owls boast a 23-11 record overall and currently sit in third place in the West Division.
CHARLIE KING (SO) | RHP | Morehead City Marlins (Coastal Plains League)
King has made five appearances totaling 7.1 innings and seven strikeouts.
Morehead City holds a record of 19-19, but has room to move up in the standings with 12 more games in July before playing every day the first week of August.
ERIC JONES (JR) and MAX BAZIN (JR) | UTIL | Charlottesville TomSox (Valley League)
Both Charlotte natives and stars at South Mecklenburg High, Jones and Bazin are playing on their third consecutive squad as teammates. Jones has spent most of the summer as catcher, supporting a batting average as high as .625 during the season. Jones, who came one hit away from tying the Atlantic 10 Championship record, spent most of the 2017 season playing third base for the 'Cats, is currently hitting at a team-high .358, with 19 hits and 11 funx. He's doubled seven times and drove in 12.
Bazin, who reigned as Davidson's shortstop for its most recent campaign, is recuperating from an injury suffered shortly after joining the Tom Sox. In eight games, he tallied four hits and scored three times.
The TomSox sit atop the Valley League South Division standings at 22-8, going 7-3 in their last 10 games, and look to cruise into the top position for postseason play.
JARET LACAGNINA (SO) | LHP | Winchester Royals (Valley League)
LaCagnina is coming off a two-inning, three-strikeout performance on Sunday, his ninth appearance of the season. The southpaw who hails from Naples, Fla., boasts a 2.76 ERA with 12 Ks in 13 innings, all in relief. He has allowed a run in just one of his outings.
The Royals are 15-18, sitting in fourth place in the North Division, but are riding a four game win streak.
JUSTIN LEBEK (JR) | OF | Sag Harbor Whalers (Hamptons Collegiate League)
Recently selected as a member of the league's South All-Star squad, Lebek also served as Sag Harbor's representative in the league's home run derby. Lebek, a native of Wilton, Conn., is hitting at a .304 clip, logging 21 hits and 16 runs with 25 RBI. Tied for the league lead with seven long balls, he also ranks fifth in the HCBL in RBI.
The Whalers are just 12-22 on the season, but have won back-to-back contests and are 6-4 in their last 10.
CAM JOHNSON (SR) | OF | Mystic Schooners (New England Collegiate Baseball League)
Johnson, a product from Wake Forest, N.C., garnered 10 hits and scored four times with the Schooners. He went a perfect 5-for-5 in stolen bases.
The Schooners are right at .500 at 15-15, currently in third place in the Southern Division.
MATT FREY (SO) and ALEX FEDJE-JOHNSON (SO) | INF | South Florida Sailfish (Collegiate League of the Palm Beaches)
Frey has nine hits, five of which are for extra-bases, and has scored eight times in 16 games. He's tallied 12 RBI. The Pennsylvania native has mostly spent time at third base for the Sailfish.
Fedje-Johnson carries the fourth-best average on the squad at .313, where he's logged 10 hits in 10 games. The Minnehaha, Minn., native has five doubles and a home run, as well as nine walks in just 32 at bats.
The Sailfish are 9-7 on the season and currently in second in league standings.
INCOMING DAVIDSON PLAYERS
WALKER IMWALLE (SO) | INF | Holly Springs Salamanders (Coastal Plains League)
Imwalle, who will join the Wildcats after spending the 2017 season at Brunswick Community College, spent the first part of his summer playing with league rival the Wilmington Sharks. While with them, the Wallace, N.C., product tallied four home runs and a stellar .704 slugging percentage. He also scored six times.
Imwalle joined the Salamanders in time for their game Monday, July 17. The Salamanders are 4-4 in the second half, sitting in fifth in the East Division. The team has a 15-21 ledger overall.
