Wrestling Lands 10 on SoCon Academic Honor Roll

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Davidson wrestling registered 10 grapplers on the 2016-17 Southern Conference Academic honor roll, announced by the league office Thursday.
The list comprised of senior Michael Moore, juniors Will Cooley, Ryan Devlin, Tien Hunter and Konner Pritchard, sophomores Aidan Conroy and Tony Palumbo, and freshmen Jackson Fitzgerald and Roy Toston.
Cooley, Devlin and Conroy all made the grade for the second consecutive academic year. The Wildcats 10 honorees are up from seven during the 2015-16 season.
The academic honor roll originated in 1988-89, when SoCon athletic directors established the award as a way to recognize the league's outstanding student-athletes. The academic honor roll consists of student-athletes who participated in varsity sports at member institutions and posted a 3.0 grade point average or higher while passing at least 24 hours in two semesters of classes or its equivalent for other academic calendars. Associate members are eligible for the award for the first time this year.
