DAVIDSON, N.C. – Davidson Director of Athletic Development and Assistant Athletic Director Gavin Viano announced the hiring of Nate Casey '17 as Coordinator for Football Development.
Casey played for the Wildcats from 2013-16 and was an integral part both on and off the field for head football coach Paul Nichols.
"We are excited to welcome Nate as a colleague. There is no better ambassador for Davidson College than Nate Casey," said Nichols. "Nate Casey was an incredible asset to Davidson College as a student-athlete and will enhance the development of our football program dramatically."
Casey will help provide 365 days of focus on fundraising for the football program, alumni engagement and significant growth of the Davidson Gridiron Club's membership.
"We are incredibly excited that Nate has decided to remain directly connected with Davidson football in this new role," said Viano. "He'll certainly have a great understanding of the needs of the program and the ability to represent Davidson well, while visiting with alumni and supporters."
In his final season, Casey overcame a midseason injury and was named a Pioneer Football League All-Conference team honorable mention. For his extensive efforts in the community he was selected to the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA)/Allstate Good Works Team in the fall of 2016 and was recognized at the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans.
