Brockett Earns A-10 All-Tournament Team Honors

DAVIDSON, N.C. — After leading the Wildcats to their first-ever trip to the semifinals at the Atlantic 10 Women's Lacrosse Championship, May 4-7, senior Annie Brockett earned a spot on the league's all-championship team over the weekend. This is the second straight year Brockett was named to the all-championship team.
The senior attacker capped off her solid career with seven goals in games against George Mason and UMass to give her a career-high 50 goals for the season. Brockett tallied five of those goals in leading Davidson to a big comeback 14-13 win over the Patriots in the quarterfinals for the program's first-ever win the league's championship. All five of the goals came during the 'Cats' game-changing 9-2 run. The senior's final score of the contest gave the 'Cats the win, scoring the game-winning goal when she broke up a 13-all tie with 1:04 left as Davidson overcame an 11-5 deficit in the second half.
Brockett added two goals in the Wildcats' semifinal game, a 21-6 setback to the top-seeded UMass Minutewomen, who went on to claim their ninth straight A-10 Lacrosse Championship Title by defeating Ricmond 13-12 in the final.
The Shaker Heights, Ohio, native closed out her four-year career by setting personal bests during her senior season in goals, assists (9), points (team-best 59), shots (122), groundballs (15), draw controls (6) and caused turnovers (8), while starting all 18 games. In addition the senior went 15-for-35 on free-position attempts.
Brockett will leave Davidson with her name in the record books, ranking seventh in career goals (102) and just outside the top-10 in points with 123. Her 50 goals this year were tied for third-most all time in a single season.
Joining Brockett on the All-Championship team was La Salle's Allee Ilgenfritz and from Richmond, Kathleen Berkery, Caroline Queally, Kim Egizi, Sam Geiersbach and Megan Gianforte. Also honored on the team, from Massachusetts, Kaitlyn Cerasi, Sarah Crowley, Callie Santos and Kiley Anderson. UMass' Hannah Murphy was named the Championship's Most Outstanding Player for the second year in a row.
Davidson finished its third year in the A-10 with a 5-4 record and went 8-10 overall.
