DAVIDSON, N.C. – Davidson's Jack Lang, the Atlantic 10 Conference Individual Medalist, will compete in the 2017 NCAA Golf Regional in College Grove, Tenn., May 15-17 at The Grove Golf Course.
Lang will begin his opening round at 10:12 a.m. local time off the first tee with Kendrick Vinar (Harvard) and Timothy Conover (East Carolina).
A sophomore from Lexington, Mass., Lang became the program's seventh conference champion with a 54-hole total of 206 (70-68-68 | -10) two weeks ago at Grand Cypress Golf Club in Orlando.
In addition to becoming just the third player in school history to advance to the NCAA Tournament, Lang will be the second Davidson golfer to play in an NCAA regional since the regional tournament format was adopted in 1989.
Lang, a recipient of three athletic scholarships: Dr. Tom Scott Golf Scholarship, Covington Golf Scholarship, and Southwood J. Morcott Golf Scholarship, has four-career Top-5 finishes in just 18 events.
The 2016 Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year led the Wildcats this season with a 72.61 stroke average, which included 14 rounds of par or better.
The NCAA Division I Men's Golf Regional is a preliminary round of the NCAA Division I Men's Championship. Each Regional will consist of a 54-hole tournament with 13 or 14 teams and 10 individual players. The low five teams and low individual not included on those five teams will advance to the NCAA Championship that runs May 26-31 at Rich Harvest Farms (Northern Illinois) in Sugar Grove, Ill.
