DAVIDSON, N.C. — Davidson gears up for its second Atlantic 10 Lacrosse Championship Thursday afternoon when it takes on fourth-seeded George Mason at 1 p.m. at Sweeney Field on the campus of Saint Joseph's.
The Wildcats are making their second appearance in the league tournament in just their third year in the conference. They closed out the regular season strong, winning three of their final four games.
The Opening Draw Control ...
Davidson (7-9, 5-4 A-10) reached the A-10 Lacrosse Championship by earning the fifth seed after going 5-4 during the regular season in league play. It will face off against fourth-seeded George Mason Thursday, May 4, at 1 p.m. Should the Wildcats advance, they would take on top-seeded UMass Friday at 1 p.m.
A-10 Tournament ...
This is Davidson's second trip to the A-10 tournament in its third year in the conference. The championship was expanded to six teams in 2016 for the first time. Last year saw the 'Cats fall to Saint Joseph's in the quarterfinals, 10-7.
The All-Time Series/Last Meeting ...
Thursday's contest vs. Mason will be the seventh meeting dating back to 1994, with the Wildcats trailing 5-1 against the Patriots.
In this year's meeting, the Wildcats were unable to stop a quick-striking George Mason attack as it raced out to a 7-1 lead after the first 11 minutes of action and never looked back in taking a 19-9 decision. Senior Annie Brockett had a team-high three goals, while Kendall Theielemann had two points on a goal and assist.
Last Time Out for the 'Cats ...
Davidson dropped its regular season finale Saturday at home as George Mason spoiled the Wildcats' Senior Day with a 19-9 victory in Atlantic 10 women's lacrosse at Richardson Stadium on a humid afternoon.
Brockett closed out her final game at home with a team-high three goals to push her career best total to 43 on the season. Fellow classmate Kendall Thielemann had two points on a goal and an assist, while Christine Molinari recorded three points on two goals and an assist. Shayne Antolini dished out two assists, and Shannon Blee and Genna Portner each scored once.

Davidson- 157 goals (9.81 per game), 67 assists, 379 shots (23.7 per game), 175 draw controls (10.9 per game), 120 caused turnovers, 272 groundballs and 36-83 on free-position shots (43.4%)
