DAVIDSON, N.C. – Davidson will begin play in the 2017 Atlantic 10 Men's Golf Championship Friday at the Villas of Grand Cypress in Orlando, Fla.
The three-day/54-hole event will tee off Friday morning at 7:30 a.m. on the Par 72, 6,794-yard Jack Nicklaus design.
The Wildcats will be paired with St. Bonaventure and preseason-favorite Dayton in the opening round beginning at 9:45 a.m. off the first tee.
Davidson, which is competing in just its third A-10 Championship, is led by sophomore Jack Lack, who finished fifth a year ago, to earn Rookie of the Year. It was the best finish by a Wildcat freshman at the conference championship, since Richard Fountain claimed Southern Conference medalist in 2011.
A native of Lexington, Mass., Lang leads Davidson with a 73.13 stroke average, two Top-5 finishes and 11 rounds of par of better.
Andy Simmons (78.26), Nathan Tenpas (81.00), Hoke Carlton (76.78) and Michael Freeman (77.35) will also tee it up for the Wildcats this weekend.
The winner of the event will receive the Atlantic 10's automatic bid to the NCAA Regionals.
Live scoring will be available each day at GolfStat.com.
