Men's 4x400m Relay Runs Fastest Ever Time

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Davidson 4x400-meter relay team ran the fastest flat-track time in program history Saturday in the final day of the Camel City Classic.
The squad of Sean Caveney, Jacob Hostetler, Garrett Nickelson and George Williams raced away to second place with a time of 3:18.68. The race, competed on a flat track, converts to a 3:15.66 on a banked track, the fastest a Davidson relay has ever run.
"This weekend was about bettering our position in the conference standings; we needed to run well enough to ensure that we moved up and placed ourselves in the faster heats in certain events, and the guys got the job done," said head coach Renny Waldron. "Two weeks out from the A-10 Championships, we've put in some good work and are where we need to be as a team."
The same group set the previous school record at the BU John Thomas Terrier Classic (3:17.9) last Saturday at the BU Track & Tennis Center, a banked facility.
Davidson returns to the track Thursday, Feb. 9 at the JDL Team Challenge.
