PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -- In its second-to-last contest of the year, Davidson field hockey dropped a 3-0 contest to conference foe No. 17 Saint Joseph's Saturday. The Wildcats drop to 1-16 (1-7 A-10), while the Hawks improve to 16-3 (7-1 A-10).
Two-time reigning Atlantic 10 Player of the Year Anna Willocks scored twice to lead SJU, while six different 'Cats collected shots in the contest, with the freshmen duo of Nellie Turnage and Caroline Stanley recording the only two on-target.
The game was a stalemate until late in the first period, when Willocks found cage after a pass combo off a corner. The Hawks added to their lead in the second half, again taking advantage of a corner and then provided cushion with the final goal.
Davidson's sophomore keeper Sarah Zeszotarski registered five saves.
The Wildcats wrap up their 2017 campaign Sunday, facing off against LIU Brooklyn in New York.
