DAVIDSON, N.C. — Thursday night marks the home finale for the Davidson women's soccer team as they host George Washington in an Atlantic 10 matchup at Alumni Stadium.
The Matchup ...
Davidson (2-14-1, 0-7-1 A-10) will welcome the George Washington Colonials (10-4-2, 5-2-1 A-10) at Alumni Stadium Thursday, Oct. 19, for a 7 p.m. contest. This will be the second trip for the Colonials to Alumni Stadium, but first time facing the Wildcats since they joined the A-10 in 2014. GW's first visit was a neutral site game against George Mason in the first round of the 2015 A-10 Championship when it was upset by No. 8 seed Mason in the first round.
Breast Cancer Awareness ...
Thursday's game is Breast Cancer Awareness, as Davidson's Conner House will have representatives at the entrances to collect donations, sell t-shirts as well as cookies. All proceeds will then be donated.
In addition, Frios will be selling popsicles during the game, with all proceeds going to Conner House's Breast Cancer Awareness event.
The All-Time Series/Last Meetings ...
This will be just the third meeting vs. George Washington all-time since both teams first met in 2011. The two teams have not met since 2014 in Washington, D.C., where the Colonials won a 1-0 decision. The 'Cats won the inaugural meeting in 2011, a 4-2 triumph on GW's home field during the Navy Tournament.
Scouting the Wildcats ...
Davidson went 0-1-1 last week in games at Fordham (T, 0-0) and vs. George Mason (L, 0-1) ... in four of the last six games, the Wildcats have held their opponent scoreless in the first half ... the 'Cats fell to Mason on Senior Day in their lastest outing ... Allison Gray has a team-leading and career highs of four goals and nine points ... Cameron France is second with two goals and an assist for five points ... Gray has a team-high 26 shots with 14 of them on goal ... eight Wildcats in all have scored at least one goal ... Perry Zollicoffer has two of the Wildcats' eight assists on the season ... goalkeeper Becca Ravitz has started 12 times and played in 14 games overall ... she had four saves last game out vs. George Mason to give her a team-high 57 ... Ravitz was credited with her seventh career win vs. Winthrop ... She has two and a half shutouts this year ... Davidson is 2-7 at home this year ... head coach Adam Denton is in his first year leading the program after serving as assistant and associate coach the past four years ... the 'Cats return 23 letterwinners, including five starters ... they welcome seven newcomers to this year's team.

George Washington, 5-1-1 in its last seven games, is coming off a 1-0 shutout win on the road at Dayton last Sunday ... the win was the Colonials' 10th of the season, marking the 15th 10-win season in program history ... Sofia Pavon put the GW out front with a goal in the 64th minute, proving to be the game-winner ... with her eighth shutout of the season at Dayton, redshirt senior goalkeeper Miranda Horn turned in her 29th career clean sheet and passed Lora Mozer (1987-90) to become GW's all-time career shutouts leader ... she is also tied for 16th on the NCAA's active career shutouts list ... the Colonials have posted a 6-2-0 record on the road this season, riding a three-game win streak ... Pavon has scored eight goals on 39 shots and has tallied two assists this season to lead the Colonials with 18 points, a mark that ranks tied-for-sixth in the conference ... GW has already clinched a spot in next week's Atlantic 10 Championships ... last year saw GW go 11-7-3 with a 4-3-3 mark in A-10 ... it returns 15 letterwinners, including five starters ... head coach Sarah Barnes is in her sixth season and has collected 60 wins for her career.
