Football Gets Ready to Plant the Flag

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Davidson football will be recognizing the fourth annual Plant the Flag movement throughout the day Friday, August 4.

Prior to the start of preseason camp in 2014, Jon Perry '76 urged the masses to "plant the flag" and it has since become an annual tradition. The 'Cat faithful had a record number of flags planted in 2016 and looks to surpass 100 flags this season.

How do you plant a flag? It's easy! Send a photo of a Davidson flag outside or home, in your hands or you in Davidson attire to Assistant Sports Information Director Jake Brewer and your photos will be shown on the Davidson website, Twitter and Instagram platforms.

Beginning at 12:01 a.m. on Friday you can show your support by planting the flag and as an added incentive, the first to Plant the Flag will get a call on Friday from Coach Nichols.
