DAVIDSON, N.C. – Highlighted by the program's second trip to Ireland, the 2016-17 Davidson men's golf schedule will feature 10 tournaments, as announced Monday by head coach Tim Straub.
In addition to traveling across the pond to compete in the Waterville Collegiate in Waterville, Ireland, the Wildcats fall slate will consist of four events, beginning with the Joe Feagnes Marshall Invitational, Sept. 11-13.
The Waterville Collegiate, which Davidson won the last time it participated in 2012, is hosted by Rutgers University and will take place Oct. 8-10 at Waterville Links.
The Wildcats will also participate in the NC State Fall Invitational (Oct. 2-4) and Bridgestone Intercollegiate (Oct. 29-31) hosted by UNCG.
Davidson's spring campaign will include six tournaments, including the Irish Creek Collegiate (April 7-9), which it will co-host with cross-county rival Charlotte for the eighth straight year.
The 2017 spring season will tee off at the Wexford Collegiate hosted by Francis Marion, Feb. 26-28, in Hilton, Head, S.C. A week later, the Wildcats will head to Auburn, Ala., to compete against a very challenging field at the Tiger Invitational.
The Wildcats will remain in state for their next three tournaments – Seahawk Intercollegiate (March 18-20 / UNCW), Irish Creek Collegiate and NC State Spring Invitational (April 13-15), before battling league foes for the 2016 Atlantic 10 Championship, April 27-30, at Grand Cypress Resort in Orlando, Fla.
