SPARTANBURG, S.C. – For the second consecutive year, Nathaniel Powers of the Davidson College wrestling team was named to the Southern Conference All-Academic team, announced by the league Monday.
Powers, a native of Mill Hill, Pa. and a chemistry major, achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.80 over his four years at Davidson. He was previously named to the SoCon Academic All-Conference team following the 2014-15 campaign.
The 174-pounder finished his senior season with six wins, including one major decision and one pinfall victory.
To be eligible for the academic all-conference team, student-athletes must carry at least a 3.3 cumulative GPA entering the winter season and were required to compete in at least one-half of the teams' competition during the recently concluded campaign.
