
Brockett Named to All-Tournament Team Over Weekend

DAVIDSON, N.C. — After helping Davidson reach its first Atlantic 10 Lacrosse Tournament, junior attacker Annie Brockett was named to the all-championship team, as announced by the league Sunday afternoon.
In the Wildcats' quarterfinal game vs. Saint Joseph's, a 10-7 setback, Brockett recorded her fifth hat trick of the season and added an assist to mach her career best with four points to pace the offense. The Shaker Heights, Ohio, native, assisted on Davidson's first goal of the season in the first half. She then went for back-to-back goals at the end first half and the start of the second half. The junior's final goal got the 'Cats within 8-6 with 8:08 left in the game before the Hawks scored two of the final three goals to finish out the win.
Brockett had a strong third year, finishing with career highs across the board on offense. She tallied 25 goals (2nd on team) and 31 points (4th on team), while adding six assists. All but three of her goals, two assists and five points came against A-10 opponents this year. The attacker started 13 of her 14 games played and picked up 12 groundballs to go with three draw controls and four caused turnovers.
She enters her final season next year with career numbers of 52 goals, 12 assists and 64 points, while having started 30 of her 48 games played. Brockett owns 14 career multi-goal games, including a career-high eight this year.
Davidson finished its second year in the A-10 with a 5-4 record and went 8-9 overall.
Massachusett's Hannah Murphy was named Most Outstanding Player for her performance in the championship after UMass won its eighth-straight title with a 10-7 win over Richmond. Joining Murphy on the A-10 All-Championship Team were teammates Eileen McDonald, Aileen Kelly, Callie Santos, and Erika Eipp; from Saint Joseph's Rebecca Lane and Genevieve Giblin, Duquesne's Tess Drotar, Davidson's Annie Brocket, and Richmond's Natalia Chaney, Brooke Wilson and Caroline Queally.
