
Brewster, Mogen Lead Davidson on Final Day of A-10s

FAIRFAX, Va. – Will Brewster and Walker Mogen went 2-3 in the 5,000 as the Davidson men's track and field team concluded competition at the 2016 Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track and Field Championships at George Mason Stadium.
Davidson showcased its strength in the distance events once again as Brewster and Mogen earned spots on the podium in the 5,000. After claiming victory in the 10,000 yesterday, Brewster stopped the clock at 14:27.34 to take second. Mogen raced to third with a time of 14:37.26.
Jacob Hostetler registered strong performances in the 400 and 200 finals. In the 400, the sophomore earned a fifth-place finish with a time of 47.99, before taking sixth in the 200 stopping the clock at 21.83.
The 4x100 relay took seventh overall. The foursome clocked a 43.43.
Ryan Phillips registered an eighth-place finish in the 1,500. Phillips stopped the clock at 3:56.29.
In the 110 hurdle finals, Sean Caveney and Charles Rappe represented Davidson. Caveney (15:04) and Rappe (15.22) finished seventh and eighth, respectively.
Later in the day, Rappe competed in the 400 hurdle finals. The senior earned a seventh-place finish with a time of 53.86.
In the 4x800 relay, the Wildcats earned a 10th-place finish. The foursome finished in 8:00.05. In the final event of the championship, Davidson's 4x400 team recorded a ninth-place finish with a time of 3:26.35.
Davidson finished the two-day event with 48 total points, good for eighth place. George Mason won the championship with 215 total points, while Rhode Island (201) and La Salle (67) took second and third, respectively.
