
Rieden, Yarbrough Shine as 'Cats Conclude Day One of A-10s

FAIRFAX, Va. – Hannah Rieden set a new program mark in the 800, while Caroline Yarbrough earned a second-place, as the Wildcats registered four top-five on the first day of the 2016 Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track & Field Championship at George Mason Stadium.
Hannah Rieden raced to a first-place with a school record in the 800. The junior clocked a 2:10.07, shaving 2.2 seconds off her previous mark of 2:12.29.
Caroline Yarbrough continued her strong rookie campaign with a strong performance in the lengthy 10,000-meter. Yarbrough clocked a 35:45.70 to finish second. Sophomore Allison Cheeseman took fifth-place with 37:05.28
In the half mile, senior Brigid Behrens wasn't far behind Reiden, placing fifth overall with a personal-record of 2:11.54. Reiden and Behrens will compete in the finals of the 800 tomorrow.
Sarah Sears earned an 11th-place finish in the 3,000 steeplechase. Sears clocked an 11:19.51.
In the 400, Tori Long took 19th-place with a time of 59.30.
After the first day of competition, George Mason, Massachusetts and Dayton are currently leading the team race.
The Wildcats return to action tomorrow with events beginning at 8:45 a.m.
