Brewster Set to Compete in 2016 NCAA East Preliminary

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Will Brewster of the Davidson men's track and field team will compete in the 5,000 meters at the 2016 NCAA East Preliminary Saturday evening in Jacksonville, Florida.
"This is a fabulous opportunity for Will and we look forward to watching him run in such a competitive arena," said Jen Straub, who is the Director of Davidson's track & field / cross country programs.
Brewster, a junior from Grayslake, Ill., qualified for the event with a school-record 14:07.79 at the San Francisco State Distance Carnival earlier this spring.
"Will has had a very stellar season thus far," commented men's head coach Renny Waldron. "To make it to the first round of NCAA's is a great accomplishment and shows that he can compete with the best in the country."
The top five competitors from each heat as well as the next two best times will advance to the National Championships, which will be held June 8-11 at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.
