
Davidson Concludes Competition at Charlotte Invitational

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Davidson women's track program registered nine top-15 finishes to wrap up the 2016 Charlotte Invitational Saturday.
The Wildcats went 1-2 in the 3,000-meter. Allison Cheeseman earned a victory after crossing the line in 10:17.13. Caroline Turner was the next runner to cross the finish line, with a time of 10:46.14. Freshman Abby Fry earned a fourth place finish with a time of 11:05.31.
Led by Sarah Paddon, the Wildcats earned three top-10 finishes in the 1,500. In her first appearance of the 2016 season, Paddon took sixth with a time of 4:37.45. Caroline Yarbrough came in ninth with a time of 4:38.01, while Brigid Behrens took 10th after stopping the clock at 4:38.03.
Hannah Rieden earned a top-15 place finish in the 400-meter event. Rieden clocked a time of 58.90. Ashlyn Gruber wasn't far behind, taking 17th overall with a time of 59.79.
In the 3,000-meter steeplechase, Sarah Sears recorded a time of 11:23.97 to rank fifth.
Anna Buser represented Davidson in the 5,000-meter event. Buser registered a 15th place finish after crossing in 18:56.60.
In the 4x400 relay, Davidson took a second. The Wildcat foursome of Tori Long, Behrens, Gruber and Reiden clocked a time of 3:53.50.
In the field events, Daisy Borders recorded a toss of 35.42 in the discus throw. Borders ranked seventh.
