
Wildcats Tally Seven Top-Five Finishes at 49er Classic

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Highlighted by seven top-five finishes, the Davidson women's track and field team wrapped up a strong showing at the Charlotte 49ers Classic, Saturday.
Led by Hannah Rieden, the Wildcats dominated the 800-meter event with three top-five finishes. Rieden set a new program mark after crossing the line in 2:10.31 to place second. On the heels of Riden was senior Brigid Behrens. The senior posted a season-best time of 2:12.64. Ashlyn Gruber rounded out the Davidson contingent with a career-best time of 2:13.60 to take fifth place.
Caroline Yarbrough impressed once again in the 3,000-meter. Yarbrough registered a time of 10:02.87 to place second among a competitive field.
In the lengthy 10,000-meter event, Caroline Turner raced to a third-place finish. Turner crossed in 39:35.83.
Davidson returns to action next weekend. The Wildcats will head the Winthrop Invitational (March 24-26) and the Raleigh Relays (March 25-26).
