
Strong Showing For Wildcats at High Point Challenge

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Wildcats earned 16 top-15 finishes, including Jacob Hostetler's first-place finish in the 400 meter dash as the Davidson men's track and field team posted a strong showing at the High Point Team Challenge Thursday at the JDL Fast Track.
Hostetler stopped the clock at 50.54 in the 400 to claim victory. In addition, Davidson recorded two top-10 finishes. Rappe took fourth with a time of 51.90, while Caveney ranked eighth after stopping the clock at 53.53. Tommy May (53.64) and Cole Reynolds (55.43) took 10th and 12th places, respectively.
In the half mile, Patrick Rollo took second with a time of 1:57.45. Ben Corson (1:59.38) and Ian Robertson (2:01.63) placed fifth and ninth, respectively.
Led by Daniel Samet, Davidson earned three top-10 finishes in the one mile. Samet was the first Wildcat to finish, crossing in 4:22.57 to take fourth. Ryan Phillips wasn't far behind as the senior registered a time of 4:23.33 to take fifth, while Walker Mogen earned sixth place with a time of 4:23.78.
In the 60-meter hurdles, Charles Rappe clocked an 8.55 to take fourth, while Sean Caveney crossed in 8.56 to take sixth.
Jalin Jackson and Jerry Chang posted strong performances in the 200 meter dash. Jackson crossed first in 23.61 to place eighth, with Chang right behind finishing in 23.82.
In the shotput, Brady Logan registered a fourth-place finish. The newcomer registered a throw of 14.48m
In the 60 meter dash, Jordan Marshall posted a 7.57 to take 10th place overall.
Davidson returns to action Feb. 20-21 for the 2015 Atlantic 10 Indoor Track and Field Championship on the campus of Rhode Island.
