Lang Continues Strong Play, Sits T-11th at Wolfpack Intercollegiate

RALEIGH, N.C. – Highlighted by a three-under 68 in the second round, Davidson's Jack Lang (72-68=140/-2) sits tied for 11th out of 90 competitors following day one of the Wolfpack Intercollegiate hosted by NC State.
The two-day/54-hole event is being played on the 7,358-yard / Par 71 Lonnie Poole Golf Course.
Coming off a Top-15 finish in the Wildcats' fall opener, Lang opened with a one-over 72 before firing his third sub-par round of the season. In the afternoon, the 2016 Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year enjoyed a stretch of five birdies in six holes to get to five-under before suffering a pair of bogeys down the stretch.
Dating back to last year's conference championship, the Lexington, Mass., native is looking for his third straight Top-15 showing.
Hoke Carlton (72-74=146/+4) and Michael Freeman (70-79=149/+7) also turned in solid opening rounds for the Wildcats.
As a team, Davidson (291-296=587) is 13th, just nine shots out of the Top-10.
East Carolina leads the team standings by five swings over Kennesaw State, while the Pirates' Timothy Conover (67-67=134) and NC State's Jacob McBride (68-66=134) hold the top spot on the individual leaderboard at -8.
In addition to Davidson and the host Wolfpack, the 17-team field includes Augusta, Campbell, East Carolina, George Mason, George Washington, Georgia Southern, Kennesaw State, Maryland, Rhode Island, Temple, UNCG, USC Upstate, Winthrop and Wofford.
Tuesday third and final round will begin an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
