Second-Half Scoring Leads Mason Past the Wildcats, 4-0

FAIRFAX, Va.. – George Mason's Erin Mitchell recorded her first career hat trick, while Abby Downey had two assists and a goal in leading the Patriots to a 4-0 win over the visiting Davidson Wildcats Sunday afternoon in Atlantic 10 women's soccer at Mason Stadium.
The Wildcats, coming off their first league win Thursday night against UMass, fell 1-4-1 in A-10 play and 5-9-1 overall. George Mason improved to 4-2 in league action and reached the double-digit mark in wins overall at 10-5.
Quick Hits About and From the Game:
• This was just the second all-time meeting between both school's women's soccer programs, with GMU having won both meetings now.
• The setback on the road for the Wildcats was their sixth straight defeat away from Alumni Stadium.
• Head coach Greg Ashton remained to one win away from becoming the program's all-time winningest coach. He entered the day with 118 victories during his 12 years at Davidson to tie Kevin Hundley.
• Both teams played to a scoreless first half, the 10th time this year Davidson has held its opponent scoreless in the first 45 minutes of the game.
