Patnesky Announces 2015-16 Wrestling Schedule

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Bob Patnesky, the Davidson wrestling head coach, has released the team's 2015-16 schedule, which features three home duals as well as trips to the Maryland Duals, Wolfpack Open, and the Pitt Duals.
"Our schedule is a great combination of winnable matches and tough tests for us as a team," said Patnesky. "Our non-conference schedule will allow us to see wrestling from all over the country and will help prepare us for the Southern Conference and NCAA tournaments. We're excited to host two of the toughest teams in the conference, and I'm excited to see our new guys step up and compete with some of the best."
For the second straight second, the Wildcats will begin the season at the Maryland Duals, Nov. 1, where the Wildcats will face off against Buffalo, Johns Hopkins and West Liberty.
Davidson will then head hit the road for dual matches at SoCon rival Appalachian State (Nov. 7) and Greensboro College (Nov. 12). The Wildcat will make a trip to NC State to compete in the Wolfpack Open Nov. 22.
The Wildcats will head north to take on Sacred Heart, Dec. 5. Davidson will travel to the nation's capital Dec. 21 for a double header against American and George Mason.
Following the New Year, Davidson will open 2016 at the Pitt Duals Jan. 10, wrestling against Franklin & Marshall, Pittsburgh and Hofstra. Davidson will then host Anderson Jan. 17, before visiting Belmont Abbey Jan. 19. A double header versus SIUE and Grand Canyon on Jan. 24 in Edwardsville, Ill., and a home meeting against Chattanooga, Jan. 31 will close out the month for Davidson.
The Wildcats will begin February on the road will a trip to VMI Feb. 3. Davidson returns to friendly confines of Belk Arena Feb. 7 to take on The Citadel. Davidson will close the regular season on the road with trips to Gardner Webb (Feb. 10) and Campbell (Feb. 19).
The 2016 Arby's Southern Conference Championships, held of UNC Asheville's Kimmel Arena, will be Saturday, March 5, with the NCAA Championships set to begin March 17 at Madison Square Garden in New York.
Davidson returns 12 members of last year's squad, while welcoming eight newcomers.
