Davidson Football Coach's Show: 2015 Season Preview
DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Davidson football program reports to training camp Wednesday, Aug. 5 and Mark Plemmons sat down with head coach Paul Nichols to preview the 2015 season. Click here to view.
Wednesday is also #PlantTheFlag Day. So Wildcat fans, make sure you fly your Davidson flag and tweet out a picture using the hashtag #PlantTheFlag to @dcfootball_cats or email a photo to keshuman@davidson.edu.
Davidson training camp will consist of 19 practices, which includes three scrimmages and four two-a-days. The Wildcats' scrimmages are listed below with Saturday, Aug. 15 being open to the public.
Davidson Football Scrimmages:
Saturday, Aug. 15 – Richardson Stadium – OPEN to the public – 10:30 a.m.
Saturday, Aug. 22 – Richardson Stadium – CLOSED to the public
Saturday, Aug. 29 – Richardson Stadium – CLOSED to the public
The Wildcats return All-Americans wide receiver William Morris and defensive lineman Chris Woods for the 2015 season. Morris, who was named to the 2015 Preseason All-PFL first team, returns after a standout junior season, setting school records with 1,224 yards receiving and 98 receptions.
Woods, who was nominated for the 2015 Allstate Good Works Team, played in all 11 games and recorded 26 tackles, including 5.5 for a loss to be named a Preseason All-American by USA College Football.
Davidson opens the 2015 season on Sept. 5 at Southern Conference foe The Citadel at 6 p.m. The home season commences on Sept. 12 against Catawba at 7 p.m. at Richardson Stadium.
