Box Score
ARLINGTON, Va. – Right fielder Lee Miller's two-run blast in the bottom of the eighth lifted the Davidson baseball team to a 2-1 come-from-behind victory over George Washington Friday night at Barcroft Park.
The Wildcats, who stayed alive with a win over top-seeded Saint Louis earlier in the day, will face Rhode Island tomorrow at 12:30 p.m. The victor will advance to the championship round to meet fifth-seeded VCU.
After the Colonials scored in the third, it wasn't until the eighth inning that Davidson came alive. With two strikes on two outs, Miller crushed one over the right field fence that scored designated hitter Ryan Lowe (single down the right line) to give Davidson the 2-1 lead.
George Washington put two batters on base, but RHP Matt Saeta struck out the final batter to secure the win, as the senior remained undefeated with his sixth win of the season.
Lowe pitched the first 6.2 innings for Davidson and recorded three strikeouts on the day. LHP Brady Renner charted the loss for the Colonials as he pitched all eight innings and had 10 strikeouts.
Lowe also led the 'Cats with two hits and one run scored in three at bats as George Washington out hit Davidson, 10-6.
The Wildcats will return to the field tomorrow, May 23 to face No. 2-seed Rhode Island at 12:30 p.m. at Barcroft
