
Atlantic 10 Championship on Tap for Davidson This Weekend

FAIRFAX, Va. – The Davidson women's track and field team will compete at the 2015 Atlantic 10 Indoor Track and Field Championships this weekend, held at George Mason Stadium.
Running events will begin at 2 p.m. on Saturday and 10:30 a.m. on Sunday. Field events will start at 10:30 a.m. both days.
About The Wildcats
After joining the A-10 in July 2014, Davidson will compete in its first-ever Outdoor Conference Championship. The Wildcats are looking to place and score in several middle distance and distance events. Davidson is ranked among the conference's top-15 in several events.
Last Time Out
The Wildcats concluded their regular season at the 2015 Carolina Cup hosted by Winthrop University.
Erin Osment raced to a first-place finish in the 3,000-meter run, crossing in 9:44.58 to break her previous program record of 9:59.91.
Olivia Menden (4:37.29) and Brigid Behrens (4:45.62) went 1-2 in the 1,500-meter run, while freshmen pair Sarah Sears (2:15.73) and Sierra Ponthier (2:17.66) placed second and third, respectively, in the 800-meter run. Hannah Rieden took fourth in the 400 clocking a 58.51
Honor Roll
Erin Osment was named Atlantic 10 Women's Track and Field Co-Performer of the Week for the week of April 27. Osment, who set a new mark in the 5,000-meter run a week ago, raced to a first-place finish in the 3,000-meter run at the Carolina Cup to break her previous school record of 9:59.91. The Atlanta, Ga., native now holds the school record in the indoor 3K and 5K and the outdoor 3K, 5K and 10K.
Rewriting the books
Erin Osment has broken two records this season. At the Virginia Cup, Osment clocked a 16:50.19 in the 5,000-meter event, before four days later posting a time of 9:44.58 in the 3,000-meter run to break her previous school record of 9:59.91.
A-10 Indoor Championship
In its first conference championship, Davidson broke five school records across the two-day event. On the first day, Davidson broke records in the 5,000 meters, 1,000 meters and the distance medley relay. The Wildcats then set new marks in the 4x800 relay and the 3,000m on the final day of competition.
Senior Erin Osment shattered the previous Davidson program record by 23 seconds in the 5,000m (16.48.44) to take third. Sierra Ponthier set a new record in the 1,000 with a time of 3:00.5. In the DMR, the Wildcats foursome of Brigid Behrens, Sarah Paddon, Hannah Rieden and Sarah Sears crossed in 11:51.94 to crush the previous record of 12:15.69 and place third.
In the 4x800 relay, the Davidson foursome of Sears, Behrens, Olivia Menden and Rieden posted a time of 9:07.35 to set a new mark. Osment concluded her weekend with another record, as the senior broke the previous mark in the 3,000 with a time of 9:53.20.
In the Rankings
Davidson is ranked among the conference's top-15 in several events and will look to place and score in several of those events this weekend. Erin Osment is fifth in the conference with a time of 16:45.88 in the 5,000-meter event. Sarah Paddon sits in seventh in the 1,500 meter run after clocking a 4:33.92, while Olivia Menden (4:35.94) and Sierra Ponthier (4:36.36) rank 11th and 14th, respectively. Hannah Reiden and Brigid Behrens are both ranked in the top-15 in the 800-meter run. Reiden is 10th with a time of 2:13.52, while Behrens is 15th with a 2:14.54.Molly Marshall and Megan Comstock are tied for ninth in the pole vault after each of them cleared 11'4.5" at the Carolina Cup. Davidson is ranked in two relays – 4x800 and the 4x400. After turning in a 9:07.35 in the 4x800 relay, the Wildcats rank fifth, while the 4x400 relay team posted a time of 3:56.91 to sit in 10th.
