GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Davidson men and women's track team was led by strong performances Saturday at the Aggie Invitational hosted by North Carolina A&T.
Stephanie Hautamaa, Molly Marshall and Megan Comstock finished in a three-way tie in the pole vault. Each cleared 11'3.75" in the event to take first place.
Aaron Forburger crossed the line in 9:50.94 to earn a first place finish in the 3,000 meter steeplechase. The junior finished over 10 seconds ahead of his competitors.
Charles Rappe collected a third place finish in the 400 meter hurdles as the junior crossed in 55.05, before helping the 4x400 relay team raced to a fifth place finish. Rappe, along with Ben Corson, Patrick Rollo and Jacob Hostetler, crossed in 3:26.36.
Michael Schroeder took eighth place in the 1,500 meter run with a time of 4:10.64, while Alex Herron turned in a 4:13.47 performance. Hostetler took 11th in the 400 meter dash. The freshman crossed in 49.59. Patrick Rollo crossed the line in 50.40.
In the field events, Xzavier Killings took 10th in the long jump. The junior registered a 21'3.5" (6.49 meters).
Davidson will return to action April 17-18 at the Virginia Challenge in Charlottesville, Va.
