DAVIDSON, N.C. – Scott Patrick, the defending Southern Conference Champion, was selected to the all-conference team at 184 pounds, the league announced Wednesday.
A product of Ellicott City, Md., Patrick becomes just the third Davidson wrestler to earn all-conference accolades in program history.
"It's truly an honor for Scott to be voted an all-conference wrestler at 184 pounds by the conference coaches," said head coach Bob Patnesky. "To be just the third wrestler in program history to earn this honor speaks volumes to Scott's tremendous career, work ethic and dedication. He embodies the true meaning of Davidson wrestling."
Despite missing time early in the year due to injury, Patrick has rebounded to go 10-3 overall, including a 6-0 record against SoCon competition. Patrick became the first Wildcat to go undefeated in conference matches since Ian Kaplan did so during the 1997-98 season. The senior has won nine straight matches, and has picked up two major decisions and three falls on the year.
Patrick was previously named to the SoCon All-Freshman team in 2011.
Davidson will return to the mats Saturday at the Abry's Southern Conference Wrestling Championships at Kimmel Arena in Asheville, N.C.
