DAVIDSON, N.C. — The Davidson women's tennis team made it a perfect weekend and Ava Todd continued her outstanding play as the Wildcats took home a 6-1 victory in Atlantic 10 action against Saint Joseph's on a pleasant Sunday afternoon at the Covington Tennis Courts.

The Wildcats, who took a 6-1 win yesterday over George Washington, ran it record to 8-4 overall and sit at 3-1 in A-10 play. The Hawks fell to 2-3 overall and 0-2 in league matches.

"We learned a lot from our loss to Richmond last weekend," said first-year head coach Sara Anundsen. "We were too out-come oriented in that match and it was important to make sure the team's main focus moving forward was on getting better. The ladies responded with a great week of practice! We handled our nerves much better, which gave us the opportunity to compete to the best of our ability. Assistant coach Susanne and I are really proud of the girls this weekend and excited in working to get better each day!"

Davidson dominated across the board, sweeping all three doubles matches and then taking five of the six singles spots to secure the team win.

Led by the duo of Ally Sexton and Anna Catharine Feaster, who won their 10th match of the season at No. 2 doubles, the 'Cats earned 8-5, 8-7 and 8-1 wins at all three doubles spots to earn the first point of the match.

On to singles action, Todd made it 11 in a row with a 7-5, 6-1 triumph at No. 4 to push her record to a team-best 11-1. The freshman is a perfect 5-0 at the No. 4 slot.

Feaster and Sarah Stein each took home their eighth wins of the season at No. 2 and 3. The three-time A-10 Rookie Performer of the Week Feaster scored a 6-4, 6-4 win, while Stein netted a 6-4, 6-2 decision to move to 8-3 at No. 2.

Jenna Brunner won her second match in a row and moved to 7-5 on the season after a 6-0, 6-4 win at No. 5. Following her was Cassidy Shell, who overcame a 6-1 first-set defeat to come back and pick up a pair of 6-4 wins in the next two sets to also run her record to 7-5.

Davidson begins a six-match road trip by taking on Massachusetts in Charleston, S.C., March 20, at 2 p.m.
