BOSTON, Mass. – Junior Patrick Rollo broke the school record in the 800-meter run clocking a 1:52.06, while sophomore Walker Mogen had a strong showing in the 3,000-meter run at the Scarlet & White Invitational hosted by Boston University Saturday.
"We came up to Boston to chase faster times, and Patrick and Walker got the job done," said associate head coach Renny Waldron. "It's a great experience for them to come up to race at the BU facility, and they certainly made the most of it. We are right where we need to be heading into the A-10 Championships in two weeks."
A product of Owings Mills, Md., Rollo bested the previous record of 1:52.18 on a banked track set by Andrew Lantz in 2012. Rollo, now the sole record holder for the event indoor, set a new mark (1:52.93) on a flat track at the JDL Hilton Garden Invitational a week ago.
Hailing from Radford, Va., Mogen crossed the line in 8:17.58 in the 3,000, 18 seconds faster than his previous record. Mogen is now the second fastest 3,000-meter runner in school history.
Davidson will return to action at the High Point Team Challenge, Feb. 12.
