DAVIDSON, N.C. – With the hopes of breaking two Davidson school records, junior Patrick Rollo and sophomore Walker Mogen will compete at the 2015 Scarlet & White Invitational hosted by Boston University Saturday. Â
Â
Rollo is going after the current 800 meter school record on a banked track, which is 1:52.18, set by Andrew Lantz in 2012, while Mogen will compete in the 3,000-meter run.
Â
"It's a great opportunity for Patrick and Walker to run on one of the fastest tracks in the world," said associate head coach Renny Waldron.Â
Â
A product of Owings Mills, Md., Rollo clocked a 1:52.93 in the 800 to set a new program record for the event on a flat track at the JDL Hilton Garden Invitational last weekend.
Â
His record-setting time on a flat track, converts to 1.51.34 on a banked track, which sits as the second fastest 800 meter time in the Atlantic 10, behind Fordham's Taylor Lester, who posted a time of 1.50.64 at Boston University Jan. 30.
Â
Mogen, hailing from Radford, Va., most recently crossed the line in 8:35.83 at the Eastern Tennessee State University Invitational to finish fourth. The school record on a banked track is currently 8:16.27 set by Demetrios Pagnois in 2012.
