KINGSTON, R.I.
– The Davidson men's track and field team gears up for the 2015 Atlantic 10 Indoor Track and Field Championship, held this weekend at Mackal Fieldhouse on the campus of University of Rhode Island.

"We're feeling very good about where we are heading into this weekend," said associate head coach Renny Waldron. "The guys are ready for championship performances."

About Davidson
Davidson, competing in its first Atlantic 10 Conference Championship, is looking to place and score in several events across the board. Hoping to find continued success, the Wildcats are coming off a strong performance at the HPU Team Challenge Feb. 12

Sal del Giudice claimed victory in the one-mile and became the second-fastest miler in school history, crossing the line in 4:14.15. Jacob Hostetler collected a first-place finish in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.69, to set a new school. Charles Rappe placed second in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.58, while Jordan Marshall finished in 9.22.

Rewriting the books
The Wildcats have been rewriting the history books this season, as three school records have fallen. Junior Patrick Rollo became the sole record-holder in the 800-meter, clocking a 1:52.93 on a flat track and a 1:52.06 on a banked track. Freshman Jacob Hostetler broke the 200-meter dash record at the High Point Team Challenge, crossing in 22.69.

Going The Distance
Davidson is ranked among the conference's top-15 in several distance events and will look to place and score in several of those events this weekend as well.

Junior Patrick Rollo sits second in the conference behind Fordham's Taylor Lester in the 800-meter event. Senior Sal del Giudice ranks fifth in the 1,600-meter run with a time of 4:10.95, while Ryan Phillips (4:13.55), Henry Falotico (4:14.47), Daniel Samet (4:14.70) and Walker Mogen (4:14.80) rank eighth-11th, respectively.

Mogen, who recently became the second-fastest 3,000-meter runner in program history, sits fourth among the conference elite with a time of 8:17.58 in the event. Whitner Chase (8:25.83) and Falotico (8:26.77) are placed eighth and ninth, respectively, among their peers. Chase also ranks 13th in the 5,000-meter event with a time of 14:56.53, while Samet is 15th after posting a time of 15:02.08.

Fast, Faster, Fastest
Jacob Hostetler is fresh off his record-breaking performance in the 200-meter run at the HPU Team Challenge, Feb. 12. The rookie crossed the finish line in 22.69 to best the previous mark of 22.94 set in 2006. Hostetler is ranked ninth overall in the deep Atlantic 10 field for the event.

First Time Out
Jordan Marshall will compete in his first multi-event this weekend. The sophomore will appear in the men's heptathlon, across two days, with the 60-meter dash, long jump, shot put, and high jump being completed on Saturday. Competitors will wrap up Sunday with the 60-meter hurdles, pole vault and the 1,000-meter race.
