DAVIDSON, N.C. — Fresh off a season-opening win last Sunday, the Davidson women's lacrosse team looks to make it two straight when they host Navy this Saturday at Richardson Stadium.
The Opening Draw Control
Davidson (1-0, 0-0 Atlantic 10), winners of their last six straight contests at home dating back to last year, play Navy (2-1) Saturday, Feb. 21, at 1 p.m. in Richardson Stadium. The six-game home win streak is one off the program best set during the 2008 season into the first game of the 2009 campaign.
The Wildcats are playing four of their first five games at home to start the 2015 season.
The All-Time Series/Last Meeting
This will be the seventh meeting between the two schools, with Davidson trailing 5-1. The 'Cats lone victory came in the series opener in 2008, a 15-10 triumph that was part of their seven-game home win streak.
Last year on the road, No. 19 Navy captured a 14-5 victory over Davidson. Emily Rademacher paced Davidson by scoring two of the five goals on the day. Also scoring for the Wildcats was Emma Sissman (5 draw controls and 2 groundballs), Ann Fucigna and Lucy Sexton.

Record Watch: Closing in on Second in Points
Senior Emily Cooke moved a step closer to moving into second place in the record books in points after her eight-point outing last Sunday. The attacker pushed her career total to 182, four points away from passing Amanda Fleck. Cooke already holds the school's all-time assist record, increasing her total to 111 after a six-assist outing in Sunday's win vs. Kennesaw State.
Weekly Honors
• Senior Emily Cooke and freshman Christine Molinari became the first Davidson women's lacrosse players to earn Atlantic 10 weekly awards as the duo were named the player and rookie of the week for games played from Feb. 16-23.
Six in a Row at Home
Davidson is riding a six-game home streak after Sunday's win vs. the Owls. The streak start last March 22 against Elon, a 15-8 triumph. The Wildcats rattled off wins against Old Dominion, Winthrop, Coastal Carolina and Liberty to finish out the year.
The record in seven straight set from the 2008 season into the start of the 2009 campaign.
Last Time Out ...
DAVIDSON — Lucy Sexton scored a career-high five goals and six different Wildcats tallied two or more goals in helping lead Davidson to an impressive 21-4 win to open the 2015 season at home against Kennesaw State.
The season-opening win snapped a five-game losing streak in season openers for Davidson.
Annie Brockett scored four goals and Morgan Burch added three, both career highs for the sophomores.
Emily Cooke recorded a team-high eight points on two goals and six assists. The eight points pushed her career total to 182, just four away from moving into second place all time.
Emily Rademacher chipped in three points on two goals and an assist, while Emma Sissman added a pair of goals. Christine Molinari scored her first collegiate goal, and Nicole Pettiglio, who had an assist, and Jean Atkinson rounded out the scoring with a goal each. Kendall Thielemann assisted on the 'Cats' last goal for her first career helper.
It was all Davidson from the start as the duo of Sexton and Cooke helped the 'Cats open up an 8-0 lead. Sexton scored four of the goals, while Cooke assisted on three of them, including two of Sexton's, and added a goal of her own.
Last Time Out ...
... Navy — Despite a strong defensive showing in the first half, the Navy women's lacrosse team fell to No. 8 Duke, 10-3, last Sunday.
Navy (2-1) played lock-down defense for the first 30 minutes, holding Duke to two goals on 10 shots and forcing three of the Blue Devils 10 turnovers.
Duke put the game out of reach, scoring four-straight goals in a span of 8:43 to extend its lead to seven, 9-2, with 9:33 remaining. It had grabbed a 4-1 lead to begin the second half.
Duke held slight advantages over Navy in shots, 21-20, ground balls, 21-16 and clearing percentage, 17-19 to 11-16, while the Mids won the draw control battle, 10-6.
Goalie Annie Foky finished with seven saves on 17 chances, falling to 2-1 in net. Senior attack Loren Generi tallied three points on one goal and two assists
