Strong Showing For Wildcats at High Point Challenge

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Davidson men's track and field team had a strong showing at the High Point Team Challenge Thursday at the JDL Fast Track.
"There were many encouraging performances tonight," said associate head coach Renny Waldron. "We are in a good place with juat a week left until the A-10 Championships."
Sal Del Giudice claimed victory in the one-mile and became the second fastest one-miler runner in school history. The senior crossed the line in 4:14.15, while teammate Ryan Phillips wasn't far behind taking third with a time of 4:16.78. Henry Falotico (4:17.71), Daniel Samet (4:17.95) and Whitner Chase (4:20.99) placed sixth, eighth and 12th respectively.
Jacob Hostetler collected a first-place finish in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.69, to set a new school record, which was 22.94 set in 2006 by Ryan Hubbard. Jerry Change took 10th place with a time of 23.64.
Charles Rappe placed second in the 60-meter hurdle with a time of 8.58, while Jordan Marshall crossed the line in 9.22.
Xzavier Killings took second in the long jump with a final jump of 6.73 meters, (22'1''), while Jordan Marshall earned a fourth place finish with a jump of 6.40 meters (21'0'').
In the 800-meter run, Ramsay Ritchie took sixth place with a time of 2:00.09, while Ben Corson clocked a 2:00.30 to finish eighth. Ian Robertson took 10th place with a time of 2:01.01.
Aaron Forburger earned a sixth-place finish in the 3000-meter run with a time of 8:48.50.
The Wildcats will return to action for the Atlantic 10 Championships, Feb. 21-22.
