WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Caroline Yarbrough won the 3,000-meter run, and Olivia Menden took first in the one-mile to highlight a strong showing for the Davidson track and field team at the JDL Fast Track College Kickoff Saturday afternoon.
Yarbrough claimed first place in the 3,000-meter run. The rookie clocked a 10:03.00, 25 seconds faster than the next finisher. Menden took first in the one-mile, clocking a time of 5:08.96.
Grace Falken wasn't too far behind Yarbrough in the 3,000 earning third place with a time of 10:42.
Sarah Sears finished second in the one-mile with a time of 5:12.30.
Tori Long was impressive in her first collegiate meet, earning two top-five finishes. Long clocked a 1:20.00 in the 500 take fourth overall. In the 300, Long set a new school record with a time of 43:67.
In the 800 meter event, Hannah Rieden earned a third place finish. The junior clocked a 2:17.04.
The Wildcats return to action Jan. 16-17 at the ETSU Track and Field Invitational.
